00:00:02.000 –> 00:00:09.000
hello and welcome to another episode of MOJO The Meaning of Life and Business. On today’s show,

00:00:09.000 –> 00:00:15.000
we’re going to be talking about video marketing a lot of people think.

00:00:15.000 –> 00:00:21.000
Video? What is video marketing? Why do I need videos? Why do I need to be seen?

00:00:21.000 –> 00:00:28.000
Why do I need to have people only watching videos right I’m great doing?

00:00:28.000 –> 00:00:33.000
My Facebook and insta the post, or whatever it might be. And I hate getting on video.

00:00:33.000 –> 00:00:49.000
I hate talking out there, I hate putting stuff out and here’s the thing. It really is important for people to have a good understanding of where we’re coming from, and that’s Why, on today’s show I have a really incredible program with

00:00:49.000 –> 00:01:04.000
2 guests that are here to really help us talk about video marketing and the value of why it’s so important for us to really look at video marketing as a core piece of our overall marketing strategy.

00:01:04.000 –> 00:01:08.000
But before I bring them on, let me tell you a little bit about them.

00:01:08.000 –> 00:01:20.000
Jeannie Wilson and Kirsten Graham have a simple marketing strategy along with a well-trained marketing, virtual assistant who handles 90% of the tasks in addition, they focus on sales

00:01:20.000 –> 00:01:33.000
and marketing automation. they’re marketing virtual assistant can build lead, generating funnels and sales funnels, allowing you the business owner to work on your business and not in the business.

00:01:33.000 –> 00:01:36.000
Jeannie Kirsten. Thank you so much, and welcome to the show.

00:01:36.000 –> 00:01:42.000
Thank you so much. we’re absolutely thrilled to be here absolutely.

00:01:42.000 –> 00:01:51.000
And I mean just getting into the video marketing. and for those of you that maybe watching this on video.

00:01:51.000 –> 00:02:02.000
This is a key piece. Also, as you think about that is video marketing it doesn’t have to be a stage thing it doesn’t have to be anything big right?

00:02:02.000 –> 00:02:14.000
Yeah, there’s all different ways to to do video marketing and you kind of have to think about it as you know it’s It’s more important to get over your fear to and to get your message out there than it is to you

00:02:14.000 –> 00:02:19.000
know worry about. Oh, we spend a hair look okay, or you know how do I look?

00:02:19.000 –> 00:02:27.000
But there’s also tons and tons of different ways of being on video without actually being what we call a talking head, which is what you know.

00:02:27.000 –> 00:02:32.000
We are right now. there’s also creative ways. of if you are truly uncomfortable in video.

00:02:32.000 –> 00:02:48.000
It’s just so important you know it’s the most popular type of hosts on any platform, and it really helps people, you know, get to know you as a person, and and decide if they want to work with you if you you know if you can provide

00:02:48.000 –> 00:02:57.000
what they’re looking for, absolutely and I mean the faithless video idea is really incredible.

00:02:57.000 –> 00:03:06.000
When you think about what it is that you can do, and I mean for those of you that are listening or watching.

00:03:06.000 –> 00:03:23.000
I’m: Sure, many of you have seen those really long online what we call video sales letters in the industry and it’s just a video on top a whole long page of stuff that somebody has got to read through and it’s important when you

00:03:23.000 –> 00:03:33.000
think about video, how that is playing a piece of helping your audience also, and understanding what it is that you are doing.

00:03:33.000 –> 00:03:43.000
After all. we know that no like and trust factor or as Google calls it the 8 facts authority, trust and expertise person.

00:03:43.000 –> 00:03:53.000
When you’re thinking about the marketing and you’re thinking about a business owner who comes to you and says I need help with marketing.

00:03:53.000 –> 00:04:03.000
I I mean I am behind I don’t know where i’m going, and you’re helping them figure out how to do video.

00:04:03.000 –> 00:04:11.000
If you were to call them. I guess the thing that they should start doing.

00:04:11.000 –> 00:04:19.000
What would that biggest thing be as it relates to videos? Okay, i’m gonna relate it to the poster behind you for your book.

00:04:19.000 –> 00:04:28.000
It’s all about the bottom line it’s the bottom line it matters right, and when it comes to marketing we’re not marketing for fun, we’re marketing because we want to grow our businesses and there’s 2 things

00:04:28.000 –> 00:04:32.000
that entrepreneurs don’t have enough of us usually money and time.

00:04:32.000 –> 00:04:36.000
So if you have a ton of money, you just throw it in an agency who can do a great job for you.

00:04:36.000 –> 00:04:40.000
Most small business owners don’t just have that ton of money that they can throw.

00:04:40.000 –> 00:04:42.000
But they do have time, but they don’t have a lot of it.

00:04:42.000 –> 00:04:48.000
So you need to figure out how to maximize your time to get the best results, and that’s what video can do.

00:04:48.000 –> 00:04:50.000
So I don’t know if you’ve ever searched for something on.

00:04:50.000 –> 00:04:55.000
Youtube and a video pops up. And you realize the video is like 6 years old.

00:04:55.000 –> 00:05:00.000
I need to think about that. You search for something. And the video that popped up is 6 years old.

00:05:00.000 –> 00:05:04.000
That means that video has been working for that business owner for 6 years.

00:05:04.000 –> 00:05:08.000
24 h a day, 7 days, a week. and so it’s a great way to invest your time.

00:05:08.000 –> 00:05:16.000
It’s ready to leverage your time because you do something once, and then it’s being shown to people over and over and over again.

00:05:16.000 –> 00:05:21.000
The But on top of that great video content kind of has that fly wheel effect, right?

00:05:21.000 –> 00:05:25.000
So your videos can have a call to action to build your email list.

00:05:25.000 –> 00:05:38.000
If you have an email list, your video can go out to your email list, You know, if you have a great video content that can be broken down into original content for all of your social media platforms as well as you can use as a blog on your website which

00:05:38.000 –> 00:05:45.000
is also gonna take advantage of SEO so when I think about what’s the most important thing to tell a business owner is when it comes to marketing.

00:05:45.000 –> 00:05:49.000
You need to figure out how to leverage your time. You need to make sure that your marketing is making your money.

00:05:49.000 –> 00:05:56.000
So that would be my point absolutely and thank you. And that is definitely a great point.

00:05:56.000 –> 00:06:12.000
And just to prove the point, a little bit more one of the things that a lot of us in areas of the country and in the world where we do change our clocks and for those of us that have cars there’s clocks in

00:06:12.000 –> 00:06:18.000
the car. And I mean just to prove the point about video. There is one video.

00:06:18.000 –> 00:06:27.000
I was just trying to pull it up as you mentioned Youtube and that idea of working for so many years. I was trying to see.

00:06:27.000 –> 00:06:32.000
But I can’t find the actual video i’m looking for one guy went on.

00:06:32.000 –> 00:06:47.000
He showed how to change the clock and people are constantly searching for it, because they they just don’t know how to do it, and what he recorded it for was to remind him what to do next time it wasn’t

00:06:47.000 –> 00:07:02.000
even meant to be a piece of content. and it was I mean one of the most watched pieces because you know, 2 times a year we’re dealing with this, and it’s like you know my card doesn’t automatically change necessarily and

00:07:02.000 –> 00:07:07.000
so we’ve got that idea. So think about how you can use those ideas.

00:07:07.000 –> 00:07:12.000
And by the way, you can use humor also in your videos.

00:07:12.000 –> 00:07:25.000
Sometimes that really does make a big difference. I mean it doesn’t have to just be the stuffy kind of corporate marketing, and I mean think about genie.

00:07:25.000 –> 00:07:39.000
If you’re looking at humorous video right or video that is out, there are there other kinds of things that we can be doing that.

00:07:39.000 –> 00:07:50.000
People can feel more comfortable with just in terms of knowing they can do this or that instead of only more traditional kind of videos.

00:07:50.000 –> 00:07:55.000
Yeah, absolutely. And the greatest thing that we discovered was video editing.

00:07:55.000 –> 00:08:03.000
Because way back in the day. we didn’t have video editors, we didn’t have the software, so you just had to do it right the first time.

00:08:03.000 –> 00:08:06.000
But now the beauty of video editing is a beautiful thing.

00:08:06.000 –> 00:08:11.000
So you know your your marketing Va can add b-roll, which is you’re talking about.

00:08:11.000 –> 00:08:16.000
Somebody, you know, walking down the street now we see someone walking down the street.

00:08:16.000 –> 00:08:22.000
You could do things like powerpoints. if you feel more comfortable having something else on screen while you’re talking.

00:08:22.000 –> 00:08:34.000
We do work we do encourage our clients to be on for at least just a little while, even if it’s just at the beginning to introduce, or you know, a static picture of, you because we do want them to be thinking about

00:08:34.000 –> 00:08:38.000
what you’re saying and equating it with who you are so.

00:08:38.000 –> 00:08:43.000
But there’s also like animation videos that you can do you know, you can do.

00:08:43.000 –> 00:08:47.000
There have been videos that have been done that are just text, you know, as somebody reading.

00:08:47.000 –> 00:08:51.000
And then the text coming up So there’s loads and loads of creative ways.

00:08:51.000 –> 00:08:58.000
If you’re really, really uncomfortable being on screen to have videos done that are gonna work for you.

00:08:58.000 –> 00:09:07.000
And if I can add to that I think what really builds the no-like and trust is people being themselves right, and that’s what you’re you know you’re kind of talking about like having humor, and you know if

00:09:07.000 –> 00:09:11.000
you’re a funny person. Then you’re obviously gonna have some funny things inside of your videos.

00:09:11.000 –> 00:09:13.000
If you’re not money like me I don’t think i’m funny at all.

00:09:13.000 –> 00:09:19.000
My videos are very like factual. So but yeah I think what builds no like in trust is when you’re truly yourself.

00:09:19.000 –> 00:09:25.000
And I think that’s that’s the biggest key but I know you know I have a my dog before he passed away.

00:09:25.000 –> 00:09:31.000
I would shoot videos on the bed just so he could sit next to me because he was older, but he would move around.

00:09:31.000 –> 00:09:37.000
And so sometimes my video, editor would say Well, i’ve got to edit this within the dog move. So it’s like i’m fine with that.

00:09:37.000 –> 00:09:41.000
So my dog would jump in pictures, and it was hilarious, and we got comments about that, you know.

00:09:41.000 –> 00:09:54.000
And so if we always talk about progress, not perfection, you know, just showing up, because at the end of the day for us creating videos And for our clients creating videos is just about helping other people, you know, if you’re an entrepreneur, And you

00:09:54.000 –> 00:09:58.000
really want to change the world and help other people by creating right video content.

00:09:58.000 –> 00:10:06.000
You’re just sharing with them you’re sharing your knowledge or sharing your skills, You know you’re sharing your stories, your wins, your losses, all of those things.

00:10:06.000 –> 00:10:10.000
And you it resonates with them and it connects with them. They’re gonna want to work with you.

00:10:10.000 –> 00:10:28.000
And it’s really that simple absolutely and I mean it’s funny that you mention the bureau and the dog jumping, and all of those pieces I mean one of the things and I love the year and there’s 2

00:10:28.000 –> 00:10:34.000
brands specifically that i’m thinking about digital marketer and Appsumo.

00:10:34.000 –> 00:10:41.000
So those of you that know those brands, you may have seen some of the year end videos with their bloopers.

00:10:41.000 –> 00:11:02.000
And some of those bloopers are really incredible when you watch them. and I cannot tell you how many times I am on one of these zoom meetings, and we happen to be, recording and some sort of really ridiculous thing happens

00:11:02.000 –> 00:11:16.000
a lot of times it does get clipped out simply because other times. It’s just really funny to look back, and it’s like this happened.

00:11:16.000 –> 00:11:34.000
And that happened, and it’s like you always say if only I had it on video. And there it is, it’s right there and use that video as a way of being in a position to also connect with your audience right one thing that we

00:11:34.000 –> 00:11:44.000
know the audience is really trying to have a relationship with you right that’s one of the reasons that they’re watching or viewing your content.

00:11:44.000 –> 00:11:57.000
So having that connection is really key and that little funny thing can really be a big arrow if you will, in your arsenal.

00:11:57.000 –> 00:12:03.000
And so it’s something really important if we look though at alright.

00:12:03.000 –> 00:12:14.000
We know that we need to do video we know that it’s a really important piece, and, like you said Google being the number 2 search engine owned by the number one.

00:12:14.000 –> 00:12:28.000
So search engine Google, if we know that, video then becomes that important we’re creating this 8 min long video or maybe 30 s video, whatever it is that we’re doing, How do we get it?

00:12:28.000 –> 00:12:42.000
Though, that that video is going to be better purpose for us across different platforms, across different in ways of reaching people.

00:12:42.000 –> 00:12:50.000
Or the if you happen to be a guest on a podcast, or your own, podcast, how do you take that?

00:12:50.000 –> 00:12:55.000
To be additional content that you can then use to really have it.

00:12:55.000 –> 00:13:02.000
Then stand out and work for you not only that first time, but as you continue moving forward.

00:13:02.000 –> 00:13:06.000
Yeah, absolutely. So editing a video can take a lot of time.

00:13:06.000 –> 00:13:09.000
So even an 8 to 12 min video can take 4 or 5 h to edit in.

00:13:09.000 –> 00:13:13.000
Your geniuses marketing agency she’s very tech savvy.

00:13:13.000 –> 00:13:20.000
She’s used all the software. So we know this to be true, Because she’s edited our videos in the past So video editing takes a while just to get that great Youtube.

00:13:20.000 –> 00:13:27.000
Video done, which is why we really recommend having someone else do it for you it’s not the best use of your time.

00:13:27.000 –> 00:13:36.000
But when you’re editing that video you find that there’s lots of clips that can stand alone, so it’s a great way to take a little standalone clip out of a video, and then repurpose, it So whether

00:13:36.000 –> 00:13:44.000
that’s tiktok Facebook instagram linkedin you’re pulling out little blurbs and they don’t always have to be quote unquote teaser videos.

00:13:44.000 –> 00:13:48.000
They can truly be standalone tips that can go out to your social media.

00:13:48.000 –> 00:13:53.000
Almost any platform. You also have the ability to pull out quotes.

00:13:53.000 –> 00:13:57.000
So if you’ve said something that can be turned into a quote card.

00:13:57.000 –> 00:14:08.000
So again, we want to use as much video as possible but if you said something super brilliant. Why not turn it into a quote? it’s said by you, and who knows maybe it’ll get shared by a lot of people and you’ll kind of get known for

00:14:08.000 –> 00:14:11.000
that quote the other thing to think about is you have that transcription of that Youtube video.

00:14:11.000 –> 00:14:19.000
Once it’s all edited you can then have that rewritten into an article for linkedin or an article for your blog.

00:14:19.000 –> 00:14:22.000
So there’s so many different ways to use a video and again.

00:14:22.000 –> 00:14:26.000
It’s all about time. It just takes time it takes time to edit it.

00:14:26.000 –> 00:14:31.000
It’s time to pull out those clips and it takes time to resize them, for each platform.

00:14:31.000 –> 00:14:34.000
It takes time to make them look interesting and unique to each platform.

00:14:34.000 –> 00:14:41.000
But once you have them again, they’re working for you consistently and with our clients, you know, they’re doing a video every week.

00:14:41.000 –> 00:14:52.000
They’re getting that Youtube video. But they’re also getting 10, 15, 20, 30 pieces of content out of that one video for their social media platforms, which means they’re showing up consistent consistently.

00:14:52.000 –> 00:15:02.000
And we hear that all the time with marketing it’s so important to show up consistently. and I think that’s that’s probably one of the things that matters most video is just I love video.

00:15:02.000 –> 00:15:05.000
I go to Youtube. for everything. it’s it’s my is my primary search engine.

00:15:05.000 –> 00:15:10.000
I’ll just search Youtube. before I go to Google for anything, and I think a lot more people are like that.

00:15:10.000 –> 00:15:22.000
But that’s in that flag wheel I mentioned earlier. there’s just a new study that came out that led a lot of millennials find short form video on Tiktok but they will go back for the full video

00:15:22.000 –> 00:15:26.000
on. Youtube And it was kind of this misnomer that millennials only watch short content.

00:15:26.000 –> 00:15:31.000
That’s not true. If the topic is important to them they will watch a long form video.

00:15:31.000 –> 00:15:38.000
So again, by putting that little tiny clip on Tik tok, you may be grabbing a new potential client, and then driving them to your long form.

00:15:38.000 –> 00:15:42.000
Content.

00:15:42.000 –> 00:15:48.000
Can I answer that question all the way you do deep? No.

00:15:48.000 –> 00:16:02.000
And And if you think about it, you know, if you have your business on different platforms like Instagram and Facebook and things that aren’t full video like like Tiktok is, you know, your video content on those platforms is

00:16:02.000 –> 00:16:12.000
the one that’s going to get in front of more people Each platform pushes out the video content more than they push out any other content, and people engage with video content.

00:16:12.000 –> 00:16:28.000
They watch it, they’ll like it they’ll share it you know So it’s it’s just the best of all we’s absolutely and thank you and that’s what’s important also is how far is the reach are you

00:16:28.000 –> 00:16:36.000
taking advantage of those influencers and It doesn’t have to be an influencer like

00:16:36.000 –> 00:16:45.000
Those sisters out in California who everybody knows exactly or I think you would know who i’m talking about here?

00:16:45.000 –> 00:16:51.000
It doesn’t have to be that kind of influencer, or the major singer who happens to be a queen.

00:16:51.000 –> 00:16:59.000
If you know who i’m talking about and so when it comes down to influencer, though it can really simply be your neighbor.

00:16:59.000 –> 00:17:05.000
Who is there to say, Hey, You know, Are you aware of this?

00:17:05.000 –> 00:17:21.000
How many times have you been out Maybe in your yard, and you may be dealing with the leaves in your lawn, just because when we’re recording this, the leaves are falling, And we’re spending a lot of time

00:17:21.000 –> 00:17:30.000
outside whether the landscapers are you dealing with the leaves. So maybe you’re asking your neighbor who are you using for a landscaper?

00:17:30.000 –> 00:17:34.000
Who are you using? or do you like that leaf flower?

00:17:34.000 –> 00:17:37.000
Do you like that one more? Do you like that snowblower?

00:17:37.000 –> 00:17:45.000
Just because eventually the snow is going to be coming, too, and that kind of recommendation carries a lot of weight.

00:17:45.000 –> 00:17:59.000
So if they see a video or they see a piece of marketing that’s going to stand out, you can get a lot more reach simply because of that kind of organic connection.

00:17:59.000 –> 00:18:11.000
And so one of the things you want to be doing also in your video is, you also want to be explaining how your product or service can be used bye other people, not just you.

00:18:11.000 –> 00:18:19.000
In other words, Hi, listen! I sell ice cream. Ice cream doesn’t only have to be eaten by kids.

00:18:19.000 –> 00:18:24.000
It can be eaten by adults, too, it can be enough birthday parties that can be eaten at graduation.

00:18:24.000 –> 00:18:29.000
Start whatever it is that you’re selling that’s the idea, and I don’t personally sell ice cream.

00:18:29.000 –> 00:18:44.000
But that’s a whole other story. as we think about though, where we go and getting everything started getting people to start seeing our content.

00:18:44.000 –> 00:18:54.000
I mean you mentioned person putting it out on Facebook Insta: Twitter linkedin tick to all the different platforms out there.

00:18:54.000 –> 00:19:03.000
And I don’t know who wants to take this junior person, but in terms of simply starting to pick couple of platforms.

00:19:03.000 –> 00:19:08.000
Maybe that makes sense for us to start with. What would you recommend that we start with?

00:19:08.000 –> 00:19:19.000
Or should we really create accounts, and be sharing content on as many different platforms as possible?

00:19:19.000 –> 00:19:24.000
So my first thing would say, Youtube, I think everyone, if you have a business, you should have a Youtube, channel just flat out.

00:19:24.000 –> 00:19:29.000
You should have a Youtube channel, and you can look there’s plumbers that have great channels.

00:19:29.000 –> 00:19:32.000
There’s chiropractors there are ice cream shops.

00:19:32.000 –> 00:19:36.000
There’s just so many different businesses that have incredible Youtube channels.

00:19:36.000 –> 00:19:43.000
So I think that’s something that every business owner should really strongly consider one because of seo search engine optimization.

00:19:43.000 –> 00:19:49.000
It’s really easy to figure out with some simple tools how to get your videos in front of your ideal audience.

00:19:49.000 –> 00:19:53.000
Use an seo tools for Youtube as far as other platforms.

00:19:53.000 –> 00:19:59.000
It really depends on where your audience is. So again. if your audience is primarily on Tiktok, because they’re younger.

00:19:59.000 –> 00:20:06.000
Then that will be my next platform if your audience is in their fiftys or sixtys, and they’re more likely on Facebook.

00:20:06.000 –> 00:20:10.000
I would start there, and I do think it’s smart to start somewhere in the build up.

00:20:10.000 –> 00:20:14.000
You know a lot of our clients, because they do have a virtual assistant.

00:20:14.000 –> 00:20:18.000
We’ll usually just say before you go open up accounts with every platform.

00:20:18.000 –> 00:20:22.000
Just start by creating your Youtube video and repurposing it into the accounts you already have.

00:20:22.000 –> 00:20:26.000
Maybe that’s just Facebook and instagram and then as you build up to that.

00:20:26.000 –> 00:20:28.000
You can start new accounts, you can open up a tik tok account.

00:20:28.000 –> 00:20:32.000
You can do these different things, but start where start where you’re comfortable.

00:20:32.000 –> 00:20:35.000
Start where you think your people are, and know that you can add on.

00:20:35.000 –> 00:20:39.000
Now we do have people that come in, and the whole thing is, you know, I just hired a virtual assistant.

00:20:39.000 –> 00:20:50.000
I want to show up on every platform. that’s what they want to do That’s great, too. it’s just a decision, because once you have that Youtube, video it’s really easy to go on the other platforms So in some ways.

00:20:50.000 –> 00:21:00.000
You don’t have to make that decision unless you feel like it’s more of a management thing in other words managing your virtual assistant to make sure the content is exactly what you want making sure that you’re getting it edited.

00:21:00.000 –> 00:21:07.000
The way you want it, and that’s about building a relationship with the person who’s doing all the work for you.

00:21:07.000 –> 00:21:15.000
So it really depends on the personality. some take it slowly with one or 2 platforms after they get their Youtube video and others just jump in with all the platforms.

00:21:15.000 –> 00:21:18.000
And I don’t think there’s a right or wrong in this day and age.

00:21:18.000 –> 00:21:27.000
No, and we and we encourage everyone to use email marketing which is, we always laugh and say, you know it’s not as sexy as you know, Youtube, or social media marketing.

00:21:27.000 –> 00:21:32.000
But it’s it’s the one thing that you know drops in front of people.

00:21:32.000 –> 00:21:41.000
You know we are all in our inboxes every single day, and if you can get a video video, one of your emails dropped in front of people and get them to watch it.

00:21:41.000 –> 00:21:43.000
You know you’re you’re winning the game and a lot of times.

00:21:43.000 –> 00:21:54.000
People don’t use email marketing because they don’t know what to send, or you know, they don’t want to have to come up with a an idea like that’s too much too much thinking too much energy on their part.

00:21:54.000 –> 00:22:03.000
So you know, if you’re creating a Youtube video every single week you’ve automatically got content that you can send out to them.

00:22:03.000 –> 00:22:08.000
And that’s great and it gives you a way to against a top of mind, right?

00:22:08.000 –> 00:22:17.000
I mean, we know that there’s a saying that top of mind. Awareness is key in terms of being in a position to ultimately succeed.

00:22:17.000 –> 00:22:26.000
All too often we end up being forgotten about, simply because the people that we know had something else.

00:22:26.000 –> 00:22:31.000
Come on top of you and then boom! You lost that relationship.

00:22:31.000 –> 00:22:39.000
And so it becomes really important for us to be thinking about what it is that we’re doing to maintain that relationship.

00:22:39.000 –> 00:22:56.000
And to maintain that top of mind awareness. I wanna take a step back for a second, and Jeannie, Kirsten, the two of you teamed up in this venture to help small businesses with their video marketing and

00:22:56.000 –> 00:23:03.000
their email marketing, getting some sort of content out there. What made the 2 of you decide

00:23:03.000 –> 00:23:13.000
This was the direction that you wanted to go in? I don’t know we decided on enter it, decided on us.

00:23:13.000 –> 00:23:20.000
I think it was you know, to most businesses in the story There’s a story as to how most businesses come into play, and i’m at Gym.

00:23:20.000 –> 00:23:27.000
When I own a mortgage company, and she was in the process of starting her business with you know a Newborn and a two-year-old at home.

00:23:27.000 –> 00:23:30.000
And it was right when social media kind of came on the scene.

00:23:30.000 –> 00:23:34.000
So linkedin blogging, email marketing Facebook fan pages.

00:23:34.000 –> 00:23:44.000
Those were kind of new to everyone. And so we hosted a focus group of business owners, and that turned it a genie, creating some awesome, awesome classes for those business owners.

00:23:44.000 –> 00:23:50.000
And then that resulted in people wanting to hire her and her being like, Oh, crap! i’ve got a baby.

00:23:50.000 –> 00:23:58.000
And now all these clients right? So I said, blah blah blah read a book and a couple articles about outsourcing overseas.

00:23:58.000 –> 00:24:03.000
Would you want to try it? And she said, Yes. So then we just kind of went down this journey, and this is like long before Sue.

00:24:03.000 –> 00:24:12.000
Long before, you know, we had a lot of the tools that we have now, and we like to tell everyone if we could do it wrong if we could outsource overseas the wrong way.

00:24:12.000 –> 00:24:16.000
We did it like we’ve did it every wrong way possible we learned a lot of lessons.

00:24:16.000 –> 00:24:21.000
We learned how to be bad bosses, which eventually let us be in good bosses.

00:24:21.000 –> 00:24:28.000
We learned how to like, make really good interviews which came from our make really good choices with our candidates, which came from a really bad choices.

00:24:28.000 –> 00:24:35.000
So we just kind of went down this journey together, and it kind of led us to realize that so many small business owners need help.

00:24:35.000 –> 00:24:41.000
And that kind of led us to thinking, Okay, Well, video marketing it’s becoming more and more popular.

00:24:41.000 –> 00:24:51.000
It’s something we really believe that every business owner should do, But again, most of them can’t afford a marketing agency, and since we had become so proficient at hiring and outsourcing overseas we thought well

00:24:51.000 –> 00:24:54.000
that’s something we could teach our clients coupled with video marketing.

00:24:54.000 –> 00:24:59.000
That’s like a winning combination and so we kind of pulled our resources together.

00:24:59.000 –> 00:25:02.000
We created the program. the marketing va advantage and it’s just It’s been huge.

00:25:02.000 –> 00:25:08.000
It’s been hugely successful. It has been very gratifying one of the things you know.

00:25:08.000 –> 00:25:15.000
I’ve always been self-employed so one of the things that really really surprised me in the beginning was when our clients would first start hiring.

00:25:15.000 –> 00:25:27.000
They would say things like I finally feel like a real entrepreneur, or I had no idea how much I was beating myself up over the fact that I couldn’t get everything done i’ve got this person working 20 h a week

00:25:27.000 –> 00:25:38.000
or 40 h a week, and they’re getting these things done. How in the world that I think I was supposed to do all of that, and take care of my clients, and do all the other things that a business owner has to do

00:25:38.000 –> 00:25:47.000
We also hear things a lot about their confidence, like having, you know, the support person is really built by confidence where I love having someone to bounce ideas off of.

00:25:47.000 –> 00:25:52.000
So for us there was a lot of rewards that really didn’t have anything to do with video marketing or virtual assistance.

00:25:52.000 –> 00:26:00.000
It had to do with small business owners kind of stepping into their own power, especially for women, not feeling like they had to do everything themselves.

00:26:00.000 –> 00:26:06.000
And I think that probably is at the core of what Jeannie and I have always wanted to do, which is help.

00:26:06.000 –> 00:26:14.000
Small business owners in particular female business owners. We do work with a lot of men, but we really have a heart for helping women understand that they deserve.

00:26:14.000 –> 00:26:22.000
They deserve the help, and they they’re not going to scale their business in those cases without it, and that they can be great bosses and back Women make some of the best bosses out there.

00:26:22.000 –> 00:26:26.000
I think when women get into the rhythm of creating content, they actually enjoy it.

00:26:26.000 –> 00:26:32.000
And have a fun time because they’re very giving and that shows in their content.

00:26:32.000 –> 00:26:34.000
So it’s just really bad okay, it’s it’s been fun.

00:26:34.000 –> 00:26:37.000
I don’t really think we work a day did you do you feel like we really work.

00:26:37.000 –> 00:26:46.000
No, no, I love it, and you know I think some corporate America, and I can’t imagine it would break my heart to have to go back to it.

00:26:46.000 –> 00:26:53.000
You know, this is just so fun and rewarding, and and we are both in the place that we love.

00:26:53.000 –> 00:27:00.000
And so yeah, we love it. So it picked us we didn’t pick it. Yeah. So true.

00:27:00.000 –> 00:27:08.000
Yeah, it’s really funny how you talk to that because I have a similar story, and how I came into my business.

00:27:08.000 –> 00:27:13.000
And also with my first virtual assistance. also.

00:27:13.000 –> 00:27:24.000
I mean. I had one VA who made a really big booboo, cancelled one speaking engagement and confirmed a different one.

00:27:24.000 –> 00:27:35.000
But that other one wasn’t supposed to be confirmed and so we had a whole big to do, and needed to kinda refocus and figure out exactly how to move forward.

00:27:35.000 –> 00:27:45.000
But like you were saying. I mean we learn through trial and error sometimes, and that’s one thing at least as a coach working with my clients.

00:27:45.000 –> 00:27:54.000
I can help them skip forward, pass that trial in er like you You weren’t those mistakes and you know how to avoid them.

00:27:54.000 –> 00:28:02.000
You know I had the same thing, and I hope my clients to avoid those same mistakes in their business and their marketing as well.

00:28:02.000 –> 00:28:09.000
So it just gets that out of the way. if we look forward then.

00:28:09.000 –> 00:28:21.000
Now couple of years, and we know that technology is constantly involving the marketing is going to evolve even faster, probably, than

00:28:21.000 –> 00:28:28.000
What we can possibly think about. But if you were to look out, and 10 years is impossible in this world.

00:28:28.000 –> 00:28:35.000
But if you were to just look out 18 months you have, if you were to look in your chronicle Crystal ball

00:28:35.000 –> 00:28:46.000
And I think what we might be doing in 18 months in terms of video, in terms of marketing.

00:28:46.000 –> 00:28:51.000
Well first of all.

00:28:51.000 –> 00:28:58.000
Well, first of all, can I just say how the really good and excited it is to think about the fact that it’s evolving, and and how quickly it evolves.

00:28:58.000 –> 00:29:06.000
Because, you know, 2 years ago, if you said you can use an Ai tool to take your transcription and turn it into a great article or blog post with just a little bit of tweaking No one.

00:29:06.000 –> 00:29:09.000
Would have believed, you you know, if you would think that there’s editing software.

00:29:09.000 –> 00:29:15.000
Now that can take and get out most of the bums and the butts and the pauses before the editor actually starts working.

00:29:15.000 –> 00:29:22.000
You wouldn’t have believed it so that’s so many things that are changing, not just marketing, but the tools that help us market.

00:29:22.000 –> 00:29:33.000
So it’s incredibly incredibly exciting for us and It’s kind of what we love doing is staying ahead of these things so that we can teach our team who can then train our clients virtual assistance to stay ahead as

00:29:33.000 –> 00:29:36.000
well. so I don’t know if you know. but Tiktok and Youtube are kind of in a battle.

00:29:36.000 –> 00:29:44.000
Right now, Tik Tok is just announcing how They’re gonna monetize shorts. So I think everyone’s doubling down on video Tiktok and Youtube are not going away.

00:29:44.000 –> 00:29:50.000
It’s gonna be interesting to see their little battling happening, I think, through several surveys.

00:29:50.000 –> 00:29:57.000
Most people say it’s still smarter to have your primary content on Youtube and then have additional content on Tiktok or on reels.

00:29:57.000 –> 00:30:07.000
I think that’s going to stay the same for a while it will be interesting to see if tiktok changes its monetization, because right now it’s not that appealing.

00:30:07.000 –> 00:30:12.000
So it’ll be interesting to see if they change that most of our clients are not looking for monetization.

00:30:12.000 –> 00:30:16.000
The fact that they get paid to create content is just a bonus.

00:30:16.000 –> 00:30:19.000
However, there are a lot of people who want to be influencers.

00:30:19.000 –> 00:30:26.000
We always joke. We want to be rich, not famous. But you know people who just want to make their money off of creating content, not really selling a product or service.

00:30:26.000 –> 00:30:33.000
And so for those people how a channel paid them is really important and there’s a lot of them.

00:30:33.000 –> 00:30:39.000
So what happens with Tiktok, and, Youtube, as far as compensation goes, will dictate a little bit about how things will go.

00:30:39.000 –> 00:30:49.000
But right now I just really think that it’s gonna continue to be Youtube creating shorts for lots of different platforms. Youtube. is going to monetize in a much better way for their shorts.

00:30:49.000 –> 00:30:58.000
They’re also I think in 2,023 rolling out something where like right now, we have playlist, and from what I understand the way it’s gonna look is we’ll have shorts.

00:30:58.000 –> 00:31:08.000
We can have like long-form video and Then live video So they’re gonna kind of separate your content out on your channel, making it easier for people who come there to watch the type of content.

00:31:08.000 –> 00:31:13.000
They like. so I think it’s gonna be it’s still gonna be video, at least for the next couple of years.

00:31:13.000 –> 00:31:20.000
I don’t I haven’t read about any Well, I guess there’s lots of new social media platforms popping up, but we haven’t seen any that have popped up recently.

00:31:20.000 –> 00:31:23.000
That we’re like well let’s let’s really investigate that.

00:31:23.000 –> 00:31:35.000
But I won’t be surprised in the next couple of years if there isn’t a additional platforms mean i’m thinking first of all, you can’t rule out elon musk and the changes that he may be making a

00:31:35.000 –> 00:31:50.000
twitter purchasing the company for 44 billion dollars is a lot of money, and he’s gotta come up with a right and he’s got to come up with a way to really start getting that investment.

00:31:50.000 –> 00:32:09.000
Back. So I see him doing a lot with that platform. but Then also the Meta version as it stands right now as a really big piece, I think, personally, where we’re going to see a lot continue moving forward there’s so many brands

00:32:09.000 –> 00:32:15.000
that have already started making major investments in the metaverse.

00:32:15.000 –> 00:32:30.000
We saw even during the super bowl last year. I think it was that there was already a lot going on with the metaverse, and brands are selling digital clothing. blows.

00:32:30.000 –> 00:32:34.000
My mind that people are spending money to get designer clothing in the metaverse.

00:32:34.000 –> 00:32:38.000
I mean it’s not enough that they’re doing it here.

00:32:38.000 –> 00:32:41.000
I guess they have enough money that they can do it there too, and go for it.

00:32:41.000 –> 00:32:57.000
If you’ve got it it’s just interesting to see how that’s transforming also, and I think personally that there’s going to be a lot of additional content that will be made for the metaverse as brands continue moving in that

00:32:57.000 –> 00:33:02.000
direction and I don’t think it’s going to be limited only to Major Brands.

00:33:02.000 –> 00:33:08.000
I think that smaller brands that are tech savvy and understand.

00:33:08.000 –> 00:33:17.000
The younger brows are certainly going to be moving in that direction in terms of where they go, and

00:33:17.000 –> 00:33:23.000
Not that we’re giving you any kind of definitive business advice here definitely.

00:33:23.000 –> 00:33:33.000
Talk with your needed people just to make sure that it makes sense before you decide to make any kind of investment in that regard.

00:33:33.000 –> 00:33:40.000
Of course, that should go without saying but yeah, need to just put it out there as that disclaimer.

00:33:40.000 –> 00:33:59.000
Let me ask you, though, Jeannie and Cursen, if people want to find out more about you and figure out how to start getting videos figuring out that marketing Va to get them out there and producing content how can they get in touch

00:33:59.000 –> 00:34:04.000
