Hello and welcome to another episode of MOJO: The Meaning of Life and Business. On tooday’s show, we’re going to be talking about key people of influence.

00:00:14.000 –> 00:00:33.000
A lot of people are looking at how do I connect with people. How do I find the right relationships, how do I find the right people that can possibly meet making a difference in my life or in my business.

00:00:33.000 –> 00:00:38.000
We know that there are key people that are around us at any given time.

00:00:38.000 –> 00:00:54.000
And it really doesn’t matter what the situation is. Who do you turn to when you need advice, who do you turn to when you go someplace, and you ask, Do you know anybody that does this.

00:00:54.000 –> 00:01:01.000
Who do you turn to when you’re looking for an introduction.

00:01:01.000 –> 00:01:14.000
Social media is great, in the sense that we can post a question on social media, and we can possibly get the information right away from what’s out there, from our friends.

00:01:14.000 –> 00:01:29.000
Sometimes though we also really need to be looking in business though at, who those key people are that can really be connecting us to where we want to be in my business coaching world.

00:01:29.000 –> 00:01:37.000
One of the things I work on with my clients is the idea of joint ventures and strategic relationships.

00:01:37.000 –> 00:01:59.000
Let’s use as an example, one of my clients who was a florist, and we set up a joint venture with a jeweler who was three doors down from where this forest was, what we did was we set up a system that the two of them when somebody is coming into by an

00:01:59.000 –> 00:02:14.000
engagement ring is going to be going into the flower shop, or they’re going to be going into the jeweler, and they’re going to be getting rings and flowers, when they want to propose to their soon to be fiance.

00:02:14.000 –> 00:02:22.000
Well we then did was, we also came up with an idea how can we really make this even better.

00:02:22.000 –> 00:02:43.000
We got a couple other people involved, and we created a trusted vendors that they knew exactly who was involved in the entire Step. Set the bride and groom, don’t have to start trying to figure out who the best people are to be talking to

00:02:43.000 –> 00:02:49.000
you see quickly how you can really be growing your opportunity.

00:02:49.000 –> 00:03:02.000
When you have the right idea, in terms of what you have there. Going back to our topic of key people of influence. This is exactly that kind of an idea.

00:03:02.000 –> 00:03:15.000
Who are you referring to. Who are you looking to to get the information that is going to be, allowing you to get the results that you’re looking for.

00:03:15.000 –> 00:03:23.000
We know that in sales and marketing, one of the things that you have to overcome, is you need to know the

00:03:23.000 –> 00:03:29.000
problem that your prospect has and doesn’t want, and they don’t they want, but don’t have.

00:03:29.000 –> 00:03:44.000
When you know exactly who the key people of influence are. It’s going to be a lot easier for you to be connecting with those people that you are trying to find, because these key people are the people that already have a seat at the table.

00:03:44.000 –> 00:03:50.000
If you’re in the business world, and you want to talk with business owners.

00:03:50.000 –> 00:04:00.000
People like attorneys, accountants web developers payroll people insurance people business mentors business coaches like me.

00:04:00.000 –> 00:04:07.000
People that are already speaking with the very people that you’re looking to talk to.

00:04:07.000 –> 00:04:12.000
If you’re looking at going after the mommy market.

00:04:12.000 –> 00:04:32.000
The mommy bloggers are key people of influence in that space in every situation, dark key people of influence. It is up to you to figure out who those people really are and how they can really start making a difference in terms of getting you the results

00:04:32.000 –> 00:04:35.000
that you’re looking for.

00:04:35.000 –> 00:04:42.000
says you think really. Who are some of the people that I can start connecting with.

00:04:42.000 –> 00:04:56.000
One of the things that I want you to do is I want you to take out a piece of paper, or open up a new document on your computer, and just put down the alphabet, a b c d e f all the way to Z.

00:04:56.000 –> 00:05:00.000
And as you look at all of these places.

00:05:00.000 –> 00:05:08.000
Start writing down one person, two people, three people, etc.

00:05:08.000 –> 00:05:13.000
In each of those letters that you can possibly be connecting with.

00:05:13.000 –> 00:05:27.000
If you have a friend of yours, who, you know, is in business, and you’re in the business world trying to find business people, perhaps thinking. Can I put down, Adam.

00:05:27.000 –> 00:05:28.000
Adrian.

00:05:28.000 –> 00:05:36.000
Ashley, as the person that is in that a column in the bees.

00:05:36.000 –> 00:05:38.000
Maybe it’s my bookkeeper.

00:05:38.000 –> 00:05:41.000
Maybe it’s my web developer.

00:05:41.000 –> 00:05:43.000
Maybe it’s my accountant.

00:05:43.000 –> 00:05:46.000
Maybe it’s my attorney.

00:05:46.000 –> 00:05:50.000
Whoever these people are. you can be putting it down.

00:05:50.000 –> 00:06:08.000
And then what you do is you look how many of these people know people. And do they have a seat at the table in any given situation somebody is going to be a key person of influence in that particular situation in other areas, they may not be.

00:06:08.000 –> 00:06:21.000
In other words, if I was dealing with the situation with taxes, my web guy may not be the best person for me to talk to my bookkeeper and accounting is going to be the best solution.

00:06:21.000 –> 00:06:38.000
And maybe I have a business mentor that understands a thing or two about tax situations, legal structures that can help me legally reduce liability and other aspects that can really be a benefit when I need that situation.

00:06:38.000 –> 00:06:50.000
So again, as you really start digging into having this list, and keep that list, active. It’s not like a single thing that you do one time, and it’s over.

00:06:50.000 –> 00:06:56.000
It really comes down to what are you going to do now that you have this list.

00:06:56.000 –> 00:07:01.000
If you can positively identify and keep that list growing.

00:07:01.000 –> 00:07:10.000
You’re going to be in a better situation when you need to be looking at how do I find somebody that can do this.

00:07:10.000 –> 00:07:13.000
So, social media is great.

00:07:13.000 –> 00:07:33.000
One of the things we have seen that with social media. Is that your reach is dramatically reduced because of the different algorithms, if people aren’t commenting, or liking on your posts or they didn’t just connect with you on social media, you’re likely

00:07:33.000 –> 00:07:38.000
not going to see their posts, and then yours.

00:07:38.000 –> 00:07:43.000
So if you’re trying to find people, and you’re relying only on social media.

00:07:43.000 –> 00:07:52.000
That’s not the right way to go. I belong to a community bulletin board. that’s an email list in my community.

00:07:52.000 –> 00:08:09.000
It’s great. But the thing that goes on in that community board, is anybody know people who are driving from Boston to Baltimore being based here in the New Jersey area Boston to Baltimore is kind of really out there, but there’s those kinds of posts that

00:08:09.000 –> 00:08:11.000
are out there.

00:08:11.000 –> 00:08:18.000
It also has post looking for people who are reputable cheap it’s whatever that can do this.

00:08:18.000 –> 00:08:26.000
But the problem is we don’t also realize is when we put words out words can sometimes her.

00:08:26.000 –> 00:08:29.000
We’re also relying on certain people’s.

00:08:29.000 –> 00:08:41.000
Maybe unfair advantage in terms of making a recommendation, where it may not be the best solution for your particular need.

00:08:41.000 –> 00:08:52.000
There’s a lot of issues that are out there, but no matter again how you look at it, finding the right people that are really going to be in your corner, when you need it, the people that you really know.

00:08:52.000 –> 00:08:57.000
And if you look at your LinkedIn network, who do you really know.

00:08:57.000 –> 00:09:10.000
And if you don’t know people in your LinkedIn network. Perhaps it’s time that you start reaching out and you ask people. Hey, what are you doing, what is going on, what is new.

00:09:10.000 –> 00:09:22.000
I’m not trying to sell you I’m not trying to do anything. I just want to know who my network ends.

00:09:22.000 –> 00:09:39.000
Too many people think LinkedIn is like Facebook and they start putting things out there, and they’re like, well, I want to friend everybody, you’re not friending people on LinkedIn, you are connecting with people on LinkedIn, where they are expecting

00:09:39.000 –> 00:09:48.000
the behavior, to be different than what’s on Facebook, Twitter and the other platforms as the joke goes on Twitter.

00:09:48.000 –> 00:09:58.000
I got into a fight over a donut on Insta I’m eating a donut on Facebook, I have a donor on LinkedIn, it’s how to have a donut company.

00:09:58.000 –> 00:10:08.000
These are the differences that you really want to be looking at as you’re thinking about what it is that you are going to be doing in your particular situation.

00:10:08.000 –> 00:10:12.000
and it doesn’t matter if it’s personal or business.

00:10:12.000 –> 00:10:26.000
It’s time to find those relationships, and I’ve spoken about that many times before, it is relationships. It is the key to your ultimate success in life and in business.

00:10:26.000 –> 00:10:54.000
We know relationships, having people that you can really rely on is good for your health. And it’s good for your business.

On that note, this has been another episode of MOJO: The Meaning of Life & Business and until next time, here’s to your success.
