Brainstorm Your Way to Success

Brainstorming

Brainstorm Your Way to SuccessOne of the common concerns I hear from my clients is that they don’t know how to come up with new ideas, and when they do, they don’t know how to implement them.

What should you do if you find yourself in a similar situation?

Let’s consider a few brainstorming techniques that you can do right now:
1. Let’s start by having you block off 30-45 minutes, at least, every day – whether it is at the end of the day or beginning of the day is up to you, and your energy levels, but you should be consistent in that time.
2. During that “brainstorming” time that you block off, write down EVERY idea that you come up with, no matter how crazy or far-fetched the idea may seem.
3. Every Friday, go through the list of ideas that you came up with during the week and look how reasonable some of those ideas are and how doable they are.

Based on the list that you come up with now that you believe are valuable and can “move the needle” forward, rank each of those ideas on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the least to make a difference and 10 being “I MUST do this now!” These are now the goals that you will work toward over the next few weeks.

With each higher number you have on the list, the next step is to make sure that you develop seven strategies (not tactics!) to get to each of those goals. The reason for coming up with seven strategies is that if one fails, you can quickly pivot to another strategy, and so on, without spending more time coming up with new ways to accomplish your goals and allows you to think more creatively.

As you start looking at your new goals and ideas that you develop, keep thinking bigger and bigger as you look out at the changes you’ve made to your business/life. The more changes you have successfully implemented, the better your situation should look!

Do you need help figuring out how to get your goals down and reach them? If so, we should certainly be speaking.
